Affordable Off The Shoulder Tops

I thought that Monday would be a great day to share some fun off the shoulder tops with you all. That way you can order a fun one for the weekend! The off the shoulder trend is a big one for Spring and Summer and there is no shortage of options! Whether you want an off the shoulder top, romper, or dress, I’ve got you covered.

Personally I love the off the shoulder look in all styles, but I will be sure to link some options for everyone! I shared a couple of photos from this look on my Instagram last week, and so many people loved this top. I think what they loved even more is that it is under $20! I mean how could you pass up this top for under $20? You can’t! It does take a while to ship, so just know that when ordering this top. Just another little “FYI” I would size down in this top! It runs a little big in the sleeves and I could have easily gone down one full size.

I decided to pair this fun top with some sassy baby blue shoes and a grey bag, and I love how it turned out. Everything I’m wearing is individually under $40 a piece, so it’s a very affordable look. What I love about this top is how versatile it is. It can be worn with dark jeans, light jeans, or even some cut off shorts. This is the only way I have worn it so far, but I will definitely be styling it again soon, probably with some shorts or a skirt since its so hot in Dallas now! Summer time is definitely here, and I’m not sure how I’m feeling about it!

I will link everything I’m wearing, as well as my other favorite off the shoulder items as well! They will all be linked below for you to shop. I have a busy week ahead with lots going on, and I’m so excited because I’m cutting my hair on Wednesday. As you can tell, I have pretty long hair so I’m ready for a change! I won’t be doing anything super drastic but I’ll definitely be taking some length off. I’m ready for it, my husband not so much. I told him he probably wouldn’t have even noticed if I hadn’t told him I was going to be going. Anyone else have to point out their hair cuts to their husbands or boyfriends? I hope I’m not the only one! Anyway, I will be sure to share the change with you all and let you know how it goes. I hope you you all had a fun filled weekend, I know I did! Mine was full of relaxation, which I was in desperate need of. Happy Monday friends! Enjoy your week!

Summer Beauty Must Haves

Happy Tuesday friends, so sorry my post didn’t go up yesterday! We had a really busy weekend and sometimes I just don’t get around to getting everything done on time. But, it’s up now and that’s all that matters!

It’s that time of year again, the cold days slowly disappear and we start wearing less and less layers, and then before we know it it’s Summer time. I love Summer time but just like any season, there are certain things we have to take into consideration when it comes to our skin and hair. In the Winter we use different products for different reasons, well, Summer is no exception. I wanted to share with you some of the items I’m loving for Summer. For me, it’s felt like Summer for the past month or so, so I started testing stuff out about a month and a half ago. Some of these products are things I use all year, and some are seasonal. Also, some of them are repeat buys where as some of them are products I’ve just purchased for the first time, but they were so good I wanted to share. I will try not to make this post too long, but I do want to share some details with you all so you know what type of product you’re getting. I will link everything at the bottom of my post, but let’s get started.

1. Self Tanners! I don’t know about you, but there is nothing worse than wanting to wear an adorable pair of shorts or a fun Summer dress, only to realize how pale you actually are. I used to tan in a tanning bed (insert all the bad emojis here) I know- it’s so bad for your skin. I only did this periodically while in college, and then soon after realized how horrible it is for your skin. I spent a good year or so being pretty pale before I discovered the world of self tanners. I’ve tried the cheap ones, the expensive ones, the ones you get done at salons, etc. I’ve narrowed it down to three that I love, and I will tell you why I love each of them. Let’s start out with Loving Tan. This is the first self tanner I purchased when I started my search, and I have to say I have been loving it ever since. This is one of the items I have repurchased multiple times. It is a mousse consistency and is very easy to apply. You have to purchase the applicator mitt as well so applying is simple. The mousse is an all natural aloe based mousse that has a great smell. A lot of self tanners smell horrible in my opinion, and this one has a very faint smell that is great! It also comes in different shades so you can pick a shade that is best for your skin. It is a little bit on the pricier side, the mousse is $59 but lasts for a good two-three months depending on how often you apply. This product really goes on smooth and gives a great Summer color. Personally, I love the tan after the second day, so if I need to be somewhere in a few days, I’ll do the tan a few days prior and by that time it has faded to the perfect shade. I would say this is probably my favorite self tanner at the moment. The only downside is that it ships from Australia so if you don’t want to wait or need something quickly, I would suggest the next product.

2. Next is the St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse. This one is at a little bit lower of a price point and in my opinion does not work as well as the Loving Tan. However, it is much more accessible, sold in stores, and the applicator mitt for St. Tropez is much better than Loving Tan. There are definitely pros to both, it just depends what you want to spend and how you like to shop. St. Tropez is essentially the same as Loving Tan, it is a mousse consistency as well and is applied with an applicator mitt. One thing I do love about St. Tropez is you can shower after 3 hours, with Loving Tan it is closer to 6 hours. So if you’re looking for a quicker tan St. Tropez might be a better option for you. Even after you shower and rinse the excess mousse off, the product is still absorbing in your skin for up to 8 hours and continuing to tan you! I love that aspect of this product. Another pro to the St. Tropez self tanners, it fades really nicely. Some self tanners can get splotchy and look a bit crazy as they begin to fade, but St. Tropez really fades naturally and just kind of disappears. No horrible spots that are lighter in some areas and darker in others. Overall this is a really good product for the price and I love that I can run to ULTA to pick it up.

3. Last but not least is the St. Moriz self tanner. So this is the cheapest product of the three. Here is what I love about this product, it’s $12 and give you a great color. However, by the second or third day of this tan it has drastically faded. I think this is because it absorbs so fast into your skin that it doesn’t really have that gradual tan process. This is a product I would use if I needed to be tan within the next couple of hours, because it tans you SO fast. But by the second day your color will have drastically lightened. A couple positives though, it dries in 5 minutes, it does not leave any type of residue, and you can be at the pool in less than an hour after you apply! Like I said, this is great for a quick fix or if you’re just looking to be tan for a certain day. If you’re looking for more of a long term product that will keep you tan through out the week, I would check out the first two. However, the price on this one can’t be beat so I keep it around for days when I want some color and need it fast!

Moving on to hair products for the Summer! I’ve been using Function of Beauty shampoo and conditioner for the past three months. I really wanted to use these for a while before sharing about them. I like to make sure I really like a product before sharing it with you all! These products are so fun because you get to fully customize them. All the way from the color, the scent, the name, etc. You fill out a profile and pick your problem areas or things you want to fix. This consists of selecting your hair type, hair structure, and scalp moisture, then selecting 5 hair goals. It sounds like a lot, but it’s not…it takes about 45 seconds! Whether it be oily hair, dry hair, frizzy hair, there are all different options. It is about $45 for a bottle of shampoo and conditioner together,  but it will last you a good month or more. I have a ton of hair and it is really thick and you do not need a ton of product, I put about five pumps in my palm and then put some water in my palm as well to help it lather, and that is plenty for my hair. So if you have shorter hair it may even last you longer. My top three reasons for continuing to buy these products as well as use them in the Summer are as follows 1. I chose a shampoo that would help with oil control, and I have really noticed a change with the amount of oils in my hair. 2. The smell is perfect for Summer and fully customizable so you can change it with the seasons. 3. Last but not least, this shampoo and conditioner are perfect for Summer because they do not leave any nasty build up or residue on your hair. They are made very well! The last thing I want when I’m heading out to the pool is to feel like my hair has a ton of build up or product on it, and this duo will leave your hair feeling SO fresh! I cannot link their products because they are customized to you, but you can get to their website by clicking here.

Okay two more must have hair products for Summer! One of these is a product I’ve been using off and on since high-school and I just LOVE it. I’m a huge fan of tousled and messy waves in the Summer. Whether you’re at the beach or just want a beachy look for a hot Summer day, you need this product. “Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt” spray creates tousled waves and provides a light matte finish to your hair. It’s infused with natural dead sea salt and sea kelp for texture. This texturizing Sea Salt spray also contains aloe extract which protects your hair from the dry heat of Summer. Okay, I’m just going to say it because you have to know, this product smells so good you may want to use it as a body spray. Don’t actually do that, but it really does smell amazing! Did I mention it is under $10? I mean why wouldn’t you try this! Another reason I love this spray so much is because it gives you texture and movability in your hair without that nasty crunch we all hate. There’s nothing worse than a product that leaves your hair feeling stiff and crunchy, am I right? So for the price, and the smell alone, this product is a must for Summer. I use it after I get out of the shower, spray a few sprays, blow dry my hair a bit just to work the product in and then let it do it’s magic. It’s the best for a day at the beach or the pool and I can’t wait to start using it for Summer again.

Next is a new product that I’ve only been using for the past couple of weeks. I’m not a huge hair spray fan, primarily because it always leaves my hair feeling stiff. So, when I found this product that smelt like a day at the beach, and it didn’t leave my hair feeling stiff as a board, I knew I had to share it with you. It’s the MoroccanOil Luminous Hair Spray in Medium hold. This hair spray gives you the perfect amount of hold without making your hair feel heavy with product. Another reason I love this product for the hot Summer months is because it easily brushes or washes out. So if you apply this in the morning when you get ready and then end up at the pool later on, you won’t have to worry about any nasty residue coming off when you’re in the water. I would say it is definitely a light hold hair spray, so if you’re looking for something to keep everything exactly in place, this is not the one for that job. However, like I said, it’s great for a light finish and gives an amazing shine without leaving a nasty residue which is great for Summer when you just need a little extra hold.

Makeup on a hot Summer day, no way!  Maybe it’s just me, but when it’s 100 plus degrees the last thing I want is a ton of product on my skin. I get that sometimes we don’t have an option and have to wear makeup no matter what the temperature is, but if we’re going to wear it when it’s this hot it better be light weight and hold through out the day. I tested my new favorite foundation out this past weekend, and when it comes to holding and not budging this foundation has it down. I never wear face makeup at the pool or when I’ll be laying out, however this past weekend we ended up at a pool and I hadn’t planned to be laying out so I had my makeup on still. I figured that it would be a good time to test out just how light weight this foundation was, as well as how well it withstood heat and sweat. I have to say the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation really is amazing. I applied it at 8 a.m, did a photo shoot, layed out by the pool in 90 degree weather, and I still looked like I had medium-to full coverage on when I got home that evening. All this to say, this foundation is a great non moving foundation. I’m not one to wear a full face of makeup to the pool or out in the heat, but if you have to do something that requires that and are looking for a foundation that won’t budge, this one is for you!

Last but not least is the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. This might be my favorite thing for Summer. We all know how a great day at the pool or beach leaves us with a nice glow, but that also comes with dried out skin. This stuff is seriously amazing. It makes your skin feel like a baby’s bottom, without being too oily. It is made of almond oils so it leaves your skin so moisturized and takes away any ashy feeling from all the time in the sun. I love this product for Summer because I would be at the pool all day every day if I could, so my skin needs all the extra oils and nourishment it can get in the heat of Summer.

I wish I had time to review every product I’m loving right now, but I don’t. So I will just link them all at the bottom for you. I’ll link a couple of the makeup products I’m loving as well as skincare items I use religiously. If you have any questions about any of the products please let me know! I would love to help or answer in any way I can.

Flamingos And Pink For Summer

Hi lovelies, I hope you all had a great week. I’ve definitely had a busy week so I’ve been a little MIA from Instagram and social media this week. Sometimes that’s nice though right? I think we all need a little break every now and then. Whatever you did this week I hope you enjoyed your week. I’m shooting with another new photographer this weekend and I can’t wait. I’m slowly but surely figuring out what I like and don’t like but I’m loving getting to meet new photographers and see new places in Dallas.

Okay, so moving on to this look. I’m sure you’re well aware that kimonos are really in this season, so I jumped on board and loved how fun and easy they are to wear. I ended up going with a shorter one opposed to a long one, but I can’t wait to find a long one I love as well. Kimonos come in all different forms, long sleeves, short sleeves, long lengths, or short. I found this one for under $30, and love the pattern. The pink and white is so fun for Summer and would look adorable with some jean shorts or even some white jeans for a night out. I sized down in this one because I didn’t want it to look huge. I typically wear a medium in things like this and sized down to a small, but it all depends on the fit and look you’re going for.

I got this Flamingo print bag in the mail a couple of weeks ago and wasn’t sure what I was going to pair it with, but when I got the kimono I knew they would look so cute together. If you’ve never heard of SheIn (the place where I got this bag) you have to check it out. It is all from China so shipping can be slower, but if you have a little patience you can really get some good deals. I would say if you’re shopping for clothes there to size up because everything typically runs small. Also, I’ll be honest, sometimes I order ten things and they all work out, sometimes only half work, and sometimes I throw items away. You just kind of have to weed through the site and find the gems! But I do love their site for low priced items.

I can’t wait to take this cute little bag and this kimono to the beach this summer. They are both perfect accessories for a beach trip or a pool day. Also, speaking of pools- I’m officially on operation “get it right, get it tight” for bikini season. Anyone else feel like Summer just crept up on us? So not fair! Anyway, enough about me freaking out that I have to be in a bikini in a month and a half, I hope you all love this look and I will link everything below for you to shop. Have a wonderful weekend friends!

Also I wanted to thank Mane Salon Dallas and my awesome hair stylist for doing my hair for this shoot! Shandy is amazing and always listens to exactly what I want for my hair. I linked their website above! If you’re in need of a good stylist, check them out. My husband and I both see her and love their salon.

A Pop Of Pink

It’s Friday and I could not be more ready for the weekend. As I mentioned in my blog post on Monday, we have a lot going on in our lives right now so we’re worn out as of late. Between working full time jobs, keeping up with the blog, our dogs, and Cameron’s Football Kicking company, life has been crazy. I’m definitely hoping it will slow down soon, because we need a break. Maybe some of you are in this stage too, life seems to NEVER stop, and you just feel exhausted! If that’s you, I just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. I think so many times we feel as if we’re the only person who has ever gone through “this exact thing” whatever that may be, and that’s not the case. There is always someone out there going through the same things, so be kind to people and love people because you never know who needs it. I’ve found that even when I’m struggling or stressed, it helps me when I care about others needs and feelings. I just wanted to share those little thoughts with you all, in hopes that it will help someone or that someone else can relate! Now moving on to this fun little number. The only thing that would make this outfit better is if someone could figure out how to transport me to the beach instead of in front of a brick wall! Other than that, this outfit is SO great.

I was a little hesitant about the color of this dress because I typically tend to stick to pretty neutral colors. I will say this is probably one of the brightest pieces in my closet right now, but I’m really trying to step out of my comfort zone and spice things up a bit for Spring and Summer. Does anyone else feel like they need a whole new wardrobe change when a new season starts? I definitely do! I started cleaning out my closet this week and it feels so good to get rid of stuff and downsize a bit.

Okay, on to the details. Unfortunately this dress already sold out. I just bought it last week, and today when I went to link it for you all it was already sold out. I will keep an eye out for it in case it becomes available again, but don’t worry, I will link some similar colors and styles for you at the bottom. What I love about dresses like this one is how comfortable and easy they are. This dress is adorable and so stylish but not uncomfortable to be in. I love a good dress like that! It’s flowy and loose but still flattering at the same time. I love the length as well, the midi dress length is definitely a big trend right now and I totally understand why.

You can still show off a little leg without worrying if you’re going to flash someone when you stand up from the table at dinner. If you ask me that’s definitely a reason to invest in some good midi dresses. I paired this hot pink number with some black studded block heels that are such a good price you can’t pass them up. Not only are these under $40, they are also the perfect height. I am trying to invest in shoes that I can wear with shorts, dresses, pants, etc. I’m really not big on super high heels primarily because I cannot walk in them without killing my feet. At the same time though I love to wear heels, so it’s all about finding the right style and height for you. If you’re like me and not wanting to kill your feet but still add a little extra height, these are definitely for you! I will link them at the bottom for you as usual.

I added a little fedora because, why not right? I’m really into hats right now which is so odd because a year ago I never accessorized with hats. I’m not sure if my style is just changing a bit, or if this pom pom fedora was just too cute to pass up. I actually have a special discount code for my readers at the bottom of the post. You can use it to purchase this fun Fedora or something else from their website. The website cannot be linked via LIKEtoKNOWit so I will link it right here for you to shop if you want to stock up on some cute hats as well.

The code to shop on their website is “Taylor_20” and will take 20% off your order at checkout, so if you purchase from them be sure to use that code for a good little discount. I hope you all enjoy this look as much as me, as I mentioned above I’m trying to add a little more color to my posts lately. However, if you have a certain look or style you would like to see, please let me know! I would love to do a post on something that YOU request, so feel free to send those my way!

How To Style Your Wedding Party

It’s Wedding Wednesday again! I hope you all enjoyed my first Wedding post last week, if you missed it and didn’t get to check it out, head here to read all about our decor! This week I’ll be sharing all about how we chose our wedding parties style. From mixing and matching bridesmaid dresses, as well as how to make your groom stand out from the groomsmen. I’ll be sharing a little bit about everyone’s style in our wedding party. If you have any specific questions about where we got certain items, please feel free to email me and I can let you know. Since our wedding was last October, a lot of the items may be sold out. However, some of the pieces came from places that make items year round! I hope you enjoy this post.

Now let’s move on to our wedding party. This was such a tricky part of wedding planning for us. When I say us I really mean me and my bridesmaids. They were so great with the constant change of ideas. As I mentioned in my first wedding post featured here, it is really important to have a theme/color scheme. So with that being said, I assumed that all of my bridesmaids would wear a variation of a deep, Fall color. I went to multiple stores and spent time pulling dresses, mixing and matching different colors, and really loved what I had chosen. I had selected four different dresses, all of different patterns and colors, and it was beautiful! However, plans change! When it was time for all the girls to come try on dresses, and see how it all looked on, things went great! Everyone but one person had their dress, so we decided to make a trip to Macy’s to see if we could find that last dress. When we did this, we all began to find these beautiful dresses and I was totally obsessed with the look. At this point multiple girls had ordered their dress, so we had to cancel the orders and we started completely over. We built it all off of one dress, and I can honestly say I’m so glad we decided to look at that last place. The dresses we chose were exactly what I had envisioned but couldn’t exactly put together, that is until I saw them in person.

One thing I would say is this, don’t be afraid to experiment. Pull dresses for your bridesmaids that are unique. If you are wanting to mix and match and do something different, it will take a lot more work. But in the end it turns out so beautiful. Another tip I have for mixing and matching dresses is this, pick the one dress that you absolutely HAVE to have in your wedding party, and then pull other dresses that go with that dress. It will take a lot of trial and error, but keep trying on different things and mixing different patterns and textures. For my bridesmaids we ended up completely changing the colors and going with dark greys and building off of that. We incorporated our wedding colors with their shoes and the flowers. The deep red flowers, and pretty pinks really stood out with the dark dresses. A couple more tips for mixing dresses, 1. Make sure everyone is there at the same time so you can see the dresses all side by side. 2. Do not mix and match lengths of dresses, either choose all long or all short, and get your variety from the types of fabric and styles of the dresses. 3. Last but not least do not give your bridesmaids free reign. It’s great to let everyone choose a dress they love, after all they are the ones buying their dress most of the time. However, have criteria for what colors, styles, and patterns they can choose.

Okay, moving on to the men! Let’s be honest though, the bridesmaids dresses are SO much harder to figure out than the groomsmen’s tuxedos. When we started to plan the suits/tuxedos for the guys, we really wanted to keep it classic. Since we had already decided that the girls would all be in darker colors, we obviously wanted to keep this theme going. However, I really wanted Cameron to be in something different than all of the guys. So, we decided to have all the groomsmen wear a classic black and white tuxedo, we added a little color to their look with fun socks that we gave them as part of their gifts. For Cameron, we decided we needed to do something that would still complement the groomsmen but at the same time stand out. We found an amazing navy tuxedo with black lapels and it turned out so nice. I loved how his tuxedo was navy but still had a small amount of black to match the groomsmen. We added maroon bowties that we also added to the guys gifts, and it really pulled the whole look together. When it comes to choosing a tuxedo or suit for groomsmen, I really suggest doing it this way. We went to a rental store, picked the whole entire suit and set up the orders. All the guys had to do was send in their measurements, pay for their rental, and pick up their tux! It was so simple, because let’s be real for a second, guys are horrible at coordinating and planning. Most of the time! You might be lucky and have a significant other that’s amazing at this kind of thing, but for us this was the way to go! When they were done with the tuxedo all they had to do was return it to the store, it was so simple and I highly recommend it. Also, when doing this you eliminate the possibility of someone getting the wrong shirt or the wrong jacket. Everyone gets the same thing at the same store and it makes life so much easier! We used Al’s Formal Wear in Uptown, Dallas and they were amazing! I will share the groomsmen and grooms style below!

groomsmen style groomsmen mismatched style groom first look groomsmen navy tuxedo best man and groom fall wedding groom shoes for fall wedding fall flowers for wedding grooms wedding style Now I’m going to touch on the remaining members of your wedding party! That could be anyone from grandparents, flower girls, parents, etc. I’m not going to share with you exactly how to coordinate this for your wedding, because every wedding is different and every bride and groom are unique. For us, we knew that the best way to do things for my dad and Cameron’s dad would be the same way as the groomsmen. That was simple and easy for us as well, because both of our dad’s rented tuxedos the same way I mentioned above. For our mom’s dresses it was all about what they wanted! We wanted them to feel comfortable and love what they were wearing. The mother of the bride and the grooms mom typically do not wear the same color, so we let my mom choose from two colors, she chose black, and then Cameron’s mom wore navy. They both made sure that we were happy with what they chose, and included us in this process. However, at the end of the day we wanted them to love what they were wearing. If there’s one tip I could give for choosing mother of the bride dresses it would be this. Do not just look at “mother of the bride” dresses. I don’t think either of our mom’s found their dress in this specific section. Be open to looking at all areas of a store! You never know what you might find. We coordinated our grandmothers dresses with our moms, so black and navy were still the main colors. Again, stick to a color theme when choosing anything for your wedding, it will really make decisions much more cut and dry. Knowing that you can only choose from two colors really narrows it down, but still gives someone an option!

Last but not least, it wouldn’t be a wedding without the adorable flower girl and ring bearer. We had two ring bearers and one flower girl! I knew I wanted our flower girl to be in a white dress and for the dress to be dramatic and flowing! Luckily she loved the dress I chose and was just as obsessed with it as I was. I added some color by ordering her a flower crown (made of fake flowers so she could keep it) and put this with her wedding day gift. It was such a hit and she loved wearing it. She said she felt like a princess and she definitely looked like one. As far as the ring bearers, we kept it simple and stuck with the classic black and white theme! They each had their own job, one held the ring box and one got to hold a sing. Just a tip, if you have more than one ring bearer or flower girl, make sure they both have their own job. It helps to give each of them a task so they feel like they are involved as well! Another tip for having young kids in your wedding- make sure that the parents know to be on the inside of the aisle so the child can find them and sit down. We chose to have our three little minis sit with their parents after their job was done, just to make sure there were no unexpected melt downs at the altar! I mean they are all under six, so we didn’t know how they would react. We had the cutest little trio, and I loved how their style matched ours, but was still perfect for their ages.

Shorts for Spring

Hi friends! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. We’re currently in a transition time in our life and things have been kind of stressful, but that’s life sometimes right? I hope you all had a restful weekend are feeling ready for a new week.

I have a fun post coming up on Wednesday about how to style your wedding party, and I’m sharing some really fun photos, so be sure to check that out. But today I want to share this adorable outfit I wore last week. I was sent these adorable shorts as well as this cute off the shoulder top from two amazing boutiques! They were so kind to gift me with these, and I couldn’t wait to share them with you all. There will be a special discount code at the bottom in case you want to do some shopping of your own!

So let’s talk about the shirt first, it’s no secret I’m obsessed with off the shoulder tops lately. I hope you’re not all sick of them because I just can’t stop buying them! They are SO cute for Spring and Summer and there’s a ton of adorable patterns out right now too. This navy OTS (off the shoulder) top was sent to me by Shop Buddy Love. If you love bright colors, fun patterns, and a huge variety- this is the place for you! There are so many things I want from their website, but I’m holding myself back! This top is so comfortable and would be adorable paired with some white skinny jeans, or some cut off shorts. I’m still in search of the perfect pair (but when I find them you’ll be the first to know.) I love the ruffles on this top as well as the flowy sleeves. It actually has straps that you can wear on the shoulder as well, but I chose to tuck them in and wear it this way, SHOCKER.

Moving on to these fun fringe shorts! Another big trend right now is fringe- fringe denim, fringe tops, fringe shorts, anything with fringe is so fun! I just said that so many times in my head it started to not sound like a word anymore. Ooops, does that happen to anyone else? I got these shorts in the mail from a boutique in Indiana called Raelynn’s Boutique. Not only are these shorts amazingly comfortable, they are also under $30, which is such a great deal. They have a small amount of distressed fringe on the bottom and the blue and white stripes just seal the deal. I’m all about stripes this season, so I was so excited to style these when I got them in the mail. I would say to size up in these if you want a looser fit, or if you prefer a little more fitted than they run true to size.

I paired the adorable top and fringe shorts with a pair of wedges that might be even more comfortable than my Marc Fisher wedges from this post! Okay, they are both extremely comfortable just totally different shoes. I was gifted these shoes and I will definitely be purchasing another pair from this company with my own money now. I don’t just share items with you all so you’ll buy them, I honestly want you to find things you love! So if I’m sent something that I really don’t care for, I won’t post about it! The shoes have the most adorable beaded detail, and I love how the heel is super chunky. They would be perfect for a date night or even for a day out and about running errands (they are that comfortable.) Unfortunately they are sold out, but the brand is Shop Sugar Brand Shoes if you want to see their other items!

I hope you all enjoy this adorable outfit, also how fun is the pink background? I’m loving bright colors lately! Definitely trying to branch out for Spring and Summer and add a little more color to my wardrobe. I’ll link everything at the bottom of my post per usual. Have a lovely day friends!

The discount code for Raelynn’s Boutique is “taylor15” for 15% off any of the boutique items.

Vacation Vibes

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend and are now ready to take on a new week! I shared a post Friday called 6 Things I’ve Learned in 6 Months of Marriage. You can read that here if you missed it. If you already read it, I hope you loved it and got a little encouragement from it. I love sharing fashion, skincare, and all the fun stuff with you all, but sometimes it’s fun to mix it up a bit. This Wednesday is also the start of my Wedding Wednesday series where I’ll be sharing all about our wedding and different aspects of how I planned and styled it, so be sure to check the blog on Wednesday morning for the first post in that series!

Now, let’s jump back on the fashion train because this dress is just too good not to share! I cannot link it via liketoKNOWit, so I will link it at the end of the post for you! If you haven’t noticed, there is now a new way to shop my looks. It’s easier than ever and once you sign up it is so simple. All you have to do is go to the App store and download the liketoKNOWit app. It is free and available now! Once you download the app, simply create an account, and then you’re done! Any of my photos that have a liketoKNOWit link, or the small icon in the corner are shoppable through liketoKNOWit. All you have to do is screenshot that photo, and it will show up in your app with all my outfit details. If you prefer to have emails sent and not use the app, you can still like my photos via Instagram and the details will be sent to your email that is on file! It is now so simple and easy to shop my looks! I’ll be doing a full, in depth post soon just to show you how it’s done, so stay tuned for that!

Alright, now onto the fun part! THIS DRESS! I got this in the mail last week and couldn’t wait to wear it. It is so light and breezy and is the perfect length. If you’re not into maxi dresses but also want something a little longer, this midi dress is for you. It comes down to mid calf and shows just the right amount of leg! The colors and the pattern are seriously perfect for a Summer vacation, or just a Summer day trip to the pool. I will definitely be wearing this as a coverup all Summer. I love that it is light and airy, but is not see through at all. Also, did I mention that it’s under $40? How amazing is that! I will link it here in case you want to shop this exact dress, but I’ve also linked some of my other favorites at the bottom!

I paired it with some fun straw heels from Target that are seriously so comfortable, and the price is amazing as well! I plan to wear it with a cute little fedora and a beach bag at the beach this Summer, but you could easily wear this dress all throughout Spring and Summer, vacation or not. I normally don’t buy items with super bright colors, I typically gravitate towards darker shades! But, I’m trying to switch it up a bit for Summer. Anyone else love their all black looks? But Summer is all about the fun patterns and colors, and this dress has both of those!

Feel free to email me or leave a comment with any questions regarding sizing, or if you just want to stop by for some girl talk! I’m fine with that too! Enjoy your day and don’t forget to check back on Wednesday for my first Wedding Wednesday post.

6 Things I’ve Learned In 6 Months of Marriage

I’m so excited to share this post with you guys! You may or may not know that I recently got married to a wonderful, handsome, and caring guy! He’s so supportive and really is amazing, I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in crime. Now, with that being said, in my first blog post a month or so ago, I said I wanted to keep things real and transparent. Life isn’t always cute outfits, stylish shoes, and perfect days. Don’t get me wrong, I have SO many days like that, but there are definitely days when things are tough, tough, tough. So, because we’re all human, and I know I’m not the only one who has these days, I wanted to share a little bit about what I’ve learned and how we’ve grown in the past six months. I’m also going to be starting a short series of posts about our wedding and how I planned it. It was such a special day and I wish I could relive it again, so I thought I would share all my tips and tricks. Even if you’re not planning a wedding, still check it out, because I’ll be sharing all our photos- from decor, bridesmaids style, gifts, and much more! Now on to the good stuff, six things I’ve learned that I hope will benefit you in some small way. This isn’t just a post for newly-weds or married couples. These are things I think all relationships go through or things all relationships need to do in order to succeed and prosper. Here we go!

1. Compromise is KEY. I recently learned this, or relearned this I should say. I have to brag on my parents a moment and say how great they were in raising us and teaching us basic things like compromise. For the most part, as kids we’re taught to see other’s perspectives, take turns, and understand other’s feelings. This is literally marriage. If I would have known this as a kid, I might have paid more attention. So, at the moment I’m currently working on all of the above. Compromise is hard, it means sacrificing what you want, and sometimes not getting what you want. As newlyweds we have really had to work hard on this. Sometimes it’s as small as I want Mexican food and Cameron wants a burger, and sometimes it’s a lot bigger than that, and can turn into a huge argument. I have to say, Cameron is really way better at compromising than I am. We both have our strengths and weaknesses, like every one does. We’ve learned that we have to work as a team, compromising takes team work. We’ve come to realize that putting each other’s needs before our own makes us want to compromise for the other. When Cameron puts my needs first, it creates a feeling that makes me want to do the same for him. Which is a win-win for both of us. Marriage is all about giving and taking, just like any relationship. It could be with your boss, your sibling, parent, or friend. If we can’t be selfless and give to others, we won’t receive the same respect.

2. Take time to just be with each other. Life gets SO busy. We are no strangers to this. Seriously, by the time you workout, get to work, have dinner, take care of the dogs or kids, it’s time for bed! The day’s fly by, so I get it. It can be extremely difficult to make time for each other. This is something we’re really trying to get better at. It’s easy to get take out and come home and watch TV on the weekends, but make a point to get dressed up and do something you may not have done together. I’m all about sticking to a routine and having a schedule, but mix it up and do something spontaneous. It’s hard sometimes to get out of your comfort zone and go do something you might not like, but try doing something your spouse or significant other enjoys. Seeing someone happy and enjoying what they are doing creates a sense of euphoria, and when someone you love is happy it will make you want to be happy as well. Switch it up and do something romantic, do something silly, do something adventurous. There are so many fun opportunities, so take advantage of them!

3. PUT THE ELECTRONICS DOWN. I am so guilty of this one, and I feel like we all are now a days. This one can definitely be applied to any relationship. Literally everywhere we go, people are sitting down to have meals and their kids are on iPads or they are on the phone, technology is everywhere. Don’t get me wrong! I love my technology as much as the next, but there comes a time when we have to be present. Our Instagram notifications can wait, that voicemail is not going anywhere, and your texts will be fine for a couple of hours. Cameron and I have found ourselves having conversations and both staring at our phones, and we just have to stop and say, “Okay, no more!” This is a hard one for both of us because with blogging and Instagram, and Cameron’s Kicking Business plus his full time office job, we both could spend hours on hours on our phones or computers, but at the end of the day a conversation with someone you love is so much better for you than how many likes we’re getting, or texting someone back. I think our society has lost it’s way when it comes to communicating face to face, and it’s really sad. Like I said, I’m guilty of this at times too. But make it a point to put the phone away at a certain time, and spend time TALKING. I promise, once you get in the habit of setting technology aside, you’ll realize how much more enriching life is!

4. Learn to surprise each other! This one is SO fun and obviously us girls love a good surprise. But ladies, guys like this too! Bring home his favorite coffee or sonic drink, leave him an encouraging note! Whatever it is that makes your significant other smile a little, DO IT. I swear these little things go such a long way. When Cameron leaves me notes in my lunch box, or sends me an encouraging text in the middle of the day, it can change the whole direction of my mood/day. I’m a firm believer in little thoughtful actions going a long way. With that being said, it doesn’t have to be small. If you’re an awesome planner and want to plan an amazing outing, go for it. Again, I really have to say, Cameron is amazing at this. He’s constantly doing things to surprise me, and I’m about to brag for just one second so bare with me. At Christmas time last year he surprised me with a carriage ride with Clydesdale Horses and I about died! I mean how amazing is that? It was SO fun and the best date. It’s a memory we have forever now and I’m so grateful for that. Whatever it is you choose to do, put your heart into it and make it something that is about your significant other. Show them you care about what they like, and you will get the same in return.

5. Learn how to agree to disagree. In my opinion this one is slightly different then being able to compromise. Learning how to agree to disagree is a bit more difficult. This means that you are accepting of your partners’ differences and aren’t asking them to change how they feel. We are all so uniquely different, and we shouldn’t have to change who we are as an individual just because we get married or are in committed relationships. Sometimes it is really not worth the argument, if you’ve both stated your point and are still having conflicting opinions, that’s okay sometimes! Pick and choose what is important and what is not, let the little things go and put effort into working on the substantial ones.

6. Last, but certainly not least, listen! This might be the biggest bit of advice I could give to any type of relationship. Let me preface that by saying, I am by no means a relationship guru. I am constantly messing up, and learning as I go. Marriage is hard, it is not easy, and it is work. But at the end of the day it is worth it. I think if you can genuinely listen to your partner, and his or her needs, you can get through anything. Listening is the base of any meaningful conversation, and if we can’t listen we will not be able to solve the issue. Don’t just brush it under the rug, work it out, and get to the bottom of it. Sometimes that is so much work and we just don’t feel like it, I get it, but you have to do the work! Listen to the small things, the good things, all the things. If you’re significant other is happy LISTEN, if they are mad LISTEN, if they are struggling LISTEN. When we as humans feel listened to we feel as if we are important to someone, and what better feeling is there than knowing you matter to someone!? I know it’s hard to always be attentive, and sometimes listening wholeheartedly isn’t always doable. However, make the conscious choice to try, if you can’t listen at that moment, set aside a time to sit down and discuss whatever it is your partner wants you to listen to. If you can do this, you can do anything!

Okay friends, I really hope you could relate to at least a small portion of this post. I know not everyone has the same issues, and no one relationship is the same. At the end of the day though we are all going to struggle, and there is something great about knowing you’re not the only one. I really enjoyed writing this and hope you enjoyed reading it. I’ll be sharing some of our wedding photos at the bottom of this post, so be sure to take a look. Also, don’t forget my Wedding Wednesday posts will start next week, so be sure to check the blog next Wednesday. I appreciate every single one of you who have visited my blog, sent an email of encouragement, or liked my posts. You don’t know how much it means to me, so thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Blush + Crochet

Hi, hi friends! I cannot believe we are already half way through April, also I’m really feeling like time is flying because on Friday we will have been married for 6 months! Where does the time go? Speaking of marriage, I’ll be sharing an exciting post about six months of marriage on Friday. I’ll also be sharing some of our wedding photos!

I really never understood when my parents or other adults would say, “Time flies, one day you’ll look back and 10 years will have passed.” Now I definitely understand that. Time really is flying and it’s crazy and exciting at the same time. Anyone else feel like they are getting old sometimes? I mean I’ll be celebrating my 25th this year, and I’m still having trouble coming to terms with that number. Okay, okay enough about time flying and getting old, it happens to the best of us right?

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It’s starting to be perfect weather for pool days and patio nights, my favorite way to spend time in the Spring and Summer. If you live somewhere where it’s not ninety degrees already, this post will be great for you too! Because, layers! I’m all about them. I’m the type of person who can literally be cold on a Summer night, so I like to still have pieces I can wear to a patio dinner on a Summer night. I shared this jacket in another blog post here, feel free to check it out. It is on major sale and a great purchase for all seasons. I decided to pair it with this mid-length crochet dress that I got at H&M last year.

I love this dress because it is so loose fitting and perfect for a hot Summer day, you can even throw this on at the beach or the pool for a cute little coverup. The thin straps and crochet detailing make it so feminine and dainty. I am loving thin, thin straps lately. I just think they are so pretty and really create a chic look. I added some suede booties and blush cross body bag, but you could easily pair this with some fun sandals and a beach bag for a different look. I really love how the bottom of this dress is longer on the sides and a little shorter in the front. I’m so happy with how this look turned out. Side note, my photographer and I shot this look in the middle of downtown Dallas at 6 o’clock in the evening. We were literally running in front of cars and taking photos, but it was SO fun! Definitely one of my favorite/most challenging shoots thus far, but I’m loving trying new things and learning along the way! I will link my outfit details below. Have a great Monday, and this is your reminder that you can handle whatever this week throws at you. Just keep telling yourself that! Thank you for reading, and as always feel free to comment or chat with me below.

Vacation Chic

Good morning everyone! If I have a ton of typos it’s because I’m exhausted from an amazing weekend. Totally kidding, I’m a little OCD about typos so you most likely won’t see many of those. BUT, I am pretty sleepy this Monday morning. My group blogger shoot was yesterday and it was so fun! I’m loving getting to collaborate and meet other awesome creatives in the DFW area. But, that being said I did not get enough rest this weekend, and that’s totally okay. Sometimes that’s what it takes to get stuff done right? There’s something kind of great about not having enough time to get everything done, because in my opinion it means your being blessed with wonderful opportunities! I’m hoping you all enjoyed your weekends, whether you watched Netflix all weekend (I’m way overdue for one of those weekends) or ran around like a crazy person all weekend, I hope you had a blast. We had a great time in College Station with family, and it is never long enough. My sisters both live in College Station, and my parents are in Florida. So, with tons of busy schedules and life getting in the way, I don’t get to see them all as much as I wish I could. With that being said, I’ll take any time I can get! Weekend get aways always make me want a longer vacation and we have a couple coming up.

We are going to Galveston for a week this July, and then we are planning an anniversary trip in September to Mexico! I cannot wait for that one, and this dress that’s on the blog today will definitely be coming along. I so wish I would have had this for our honeymoon last October, because it is beautiful! I love the knitted detailing and the bell sleeves that have a slit. It is just the prettiest dress for a beach vacation. I ordered this dress from a website called Venus and they have a ton of great beach dresses, cover ups, and even some cute swimsuits. This dress definitely fits true to size and is really comfortable considering it is a fitted dress.

I paired it with some straw block heels that I found at Target, which by the way, Target is totally stepping up their game in the shoe department. Now, head to the Venus website and stock up on some cute Summer items for your upcoming vacations. Just one more little P.S, this dress sold out quickly the first time and it is now back in stock in all sizes and on sale! So it will go fast, if you want it I suggest ordering it soon. Have a great day, friends!
