Date Night Rompers

Happy Friday friends! I’m so excited for this Memorial Day weekend and cannot wait to spend some much needed time at the pool. Does anyone have any fun plans this weekend? I love a weekend filled with sun, pools, grilling out, and fruity drinks- so I’m very excited for all of that this long weekend.

Today’s post might not be Memorial Day attire, but it is one that I love! As you all have probably seen lately, my obsession with rompers is still ongoing. Just when I think, “Oh, okay you probably have enough rompers”BAM, then I find another one I can’t live without, or so I tell myself. This one is no exception. However, this romper is one that’s a bit dressier and not one I would wear for a Spring or Summer day. I think it would be perfect for a dressy date night, or a fancy brunch with the girls. But, because it is black I love it for a night time look. So, today I’m going to share some of my favorite rompers for a date night look. I will link all my picks at the bottom as usual, so if you have a fun date night out that’s coming up, now you know where to shop!

Reasons I love this romper- 1. It’s under $35, no I’m not lying to you. 2. The exaggerated bell sleeves are seriously so fun, I love them! 3. Last but not least, the checkered sheer pattern gives it a little edginess that is perfect for a date night look.

Let’s talk sizing. I would say to size up with this item as it does run small and does come from China. Another little FYI, expect for it to take two weeks to arrive. It takes a little longer for shipping, but is so worth it when it arrives.

I hope you all love this look as much as me, don’t forget I’m linking some of my other favorite date night rompers below, just in case this one isn’t for you. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  Whether you’re spending it pool side, by the lake, or relaxing at home- I hope you enjoy your time!

Affordable Off The Shoulder Tops

I thought that Monday would be a great day to share some fun off the shoulder tops with you all. That way you can order a fun one for the weekend! The off the shoulder trend is a big one for Spring and Summer and there is no shortage of options! Whether you want an off the shoulder top, romper, or dress, I’ve got you covered.

Personally I love the off the shoulder look in all styles, but I will be sure to link some options for everyone! I shared a couple of photos from this look on my Instagram last week, and so many people loved this top. I think what they loved even more is that it is under $20! I mean how could you pass up this top for under $20? You can’t! It does take a while to ship, so just know that when ordering this top. Just another little “FYI” I would size down in this top! It runs a little big in the sleeves and I could have easily gone down one full size.

I decided to pair this fun top with some sassy baby blue shoes and a grey bag, and I love how it turned out. Everything I’m wearing is individually under $40 a piece, so it’s a very affordable look. What I love about this top is how versatile it is. It can be worn with dark jeans, light jeans, or even some cut off shorts. This is the only way I have worn it so far, but I will definitely be styling it again soon, probably with some shorts or a skirt since its so hot in Dallas now! Summer time is definitely here, and I’m not sure how I’m feeling about it!

I will link everything I’m wearing, as well as my other favorite off the shoulder items as well! They will all be linked below for you to shop. I have a busy week ahead with lots going on, and I’m so excited because I’m cutting my hair on Wednesday. As you can tell, I have pretty long hair so I’m ready for a change! I won’t be doing anything super drastic but I’ll definitely be taking some length off. I’m ready for it, my husband not so much. I told him he probably wouldn’t have even noticed if I hadn’t told him I was going to be going. Anyone else have to point out their hair cuts to their husbands or boyfriends? I hope I’m not the only one! Anyway, I will be sure to share the change with you all and let you know how it goes. I hope you you all had a fun filled weekend, I know I did! Mine was full of relaxation, which I was in desperate need of. Happy Monday friends! Enjoy your week!

The Cutest Romper For Summer

Happy Friday friends! I hope you’re all having a wonderful day, and are getting ready for a great weekend. I have a super busy one ahead, two shoots, “to do” lists, and lots of errands. I wanted to share this super fun romper with you all because I’m all about rompers right now. I think they might be my favorite thing to buy. Throw in some ruffles and stripes and I’m sold. What trends are you loving right now?

Alright, I saw this romper on a fellow blogger and she looked adorable! The romper was not able to be linked but thankfully she shared where she had purchased it. It’s from an online boutique called The Pink Lily Boutique. They have a super big variety of dresses, rompers, accessories, etc. I like this boutique because their items really fit true to size. It’s always a struggle for me to shop online because I go back and forth with loving how many more options there are, to whether or not it’s going to fit. So, when I find a good online website or shop, I want to share the wealth!

Okay, okay back on track. I love how this romper has ruffles on the sleeves, and on the shorts. It is long sleeve but still able to be worn in the heat. It is a really light weigh fabric and is perfect for a Summer night. I paired it with my new favorite Marc Fisher wedges. I know you’ve seen these in the tan color, BUT how fun are these patterned wedges? I had to have them when I saw them. I’m a sucker for a good shoe!

I wore a lace bralette underneath the romper for a little added touch. I paired a super fun sun hat with the outfit which would be perfect for a beach or resort look! I’m not quite brave enough to wear these super fun sun hats around Dallas yet, but you can bet I’ll be wearing them all Summer at the pool or the beach. Plus, if you live somewhere tropical you could totally pull that look off, Dallas isn’t really the city to walk around in a big sun hat unfortunately. But, it is one of my favorite Summer accessories. The one in this post is from a company that reached out to me called ilymix, I have linked them here. If you want to purchase anything from their website you can use my discount code “Taylor_20” for a 20% off discount code on any item on their site. The exact hat from my post is here!

If you have any questions about how this romper fits, or just want to ask a general question you can leave a comment or send me an email! If you purchase this romper tag me and let me know, I would love to see how you style it. I will link the exact romper here! It is sold out in size small, but is still available in a medium and a large. So hurry and snag it before it runs out. Also, my exact shoes can’t be linked in red, they are linked in blue. But if you want to shop the red ones here they are!

Gifts For Your Wedding Party & Guest Favors

I’m back with my last Wedding Wednesday post friends! This post is kind of a hodgepodge of everything I haven’t already touched on. What to buy for your wedding party, how to choose your favors, and little tips on how to buy for those you love. I’ve loved getting to share this series with you all and hope you’ve loved it, or found it helpful in some way! I’ll be sharing our wedding video at the end of this post so be sure to check it out after you read this post!

Let’s start out with how to buy gifts for your wedding party. Some brides and grooms choose to not buy gifts, and some do! It’s all about preference and what works for you. For us, we really wanted to find a way to think all our friends and family with something special. We definitely did not go overboard but we wanted to make sure they all felt appreciated on our big day.

For the bridesmaids and our flower girl we kept it traditional and simple. I was in charge of finding the gifts for my bridesmaids and the rest of the women in our wedding party. I found a shop on Etsy that custom made robes in different flower patterns to accomadate our wedding colors. I added a few small gifts such as coffee cups, nail polishes, personalized cards, and a small gift card for each girl. The robe was the main part of the gift and I added small things to go with it! I would say if you’re ordering from the place I ordere to size down in the robes. They do come with ties, however I would say they run about a size bigger than the label size. For our flower girl I did similar things, however I obviously wanted her gifts to be age appropriate and things she could use after the wedding. I got her an adorable silk robe with lace trim, a flower crown she could wear and play in after the wedding, some fun head bands, and a few games! She loved her gifts because she’s a total girly girl. So having a fake flower crown to play dress up in after our wedding was so fun for her! I’ll link all the exact gifts at the bottom of this post in case you need some specific ideas! Below are a few photos.

Moving on to the men! For the groomsmen we kept it simple and easy. We knew we wanted a fun photo with everyone wearing fun and goofy socks, so I bought all the guys a different pair of dress socks all in the same color hue. We added that, small bottles of Fire Ball, their bow ties, suspenders, and a gift card to Starbucks to their gifts. Like I said, we kept it easy. We didn’t want to over do it but we definitely wanted to get them something. They all loved the socks as well as the mini Fire Ball’s. We only served beer and wine at our wedding so it was something fun for them to all have together while getting ready in the Groom’s suite through out the day. For our ring bearers I went a little overboard and bought them each 5 gifts. I just kept finding things I knew they would love. One of them is 3 and the other is 6, so I just picked things that they both enjoyed. From personalized soccer signs and water bottles to Mr. Potato Head super heroes, they had it all. I would say when buying gifts for people in your wedding party to make it something they enjoy or will use. Don’t just buy something to buy it, put a little thought into it and it will go a long way.

Okay let’s talk about buying a wedding day gift for your significant other. This one was really tough for us, and we both spent a lot of time trying to figure out what to get each other. We went back and forth with how much we wanted to spend, what type of gift it should be, etc. I have to say that after a lot of time trying to figure out what to get each other, we both really ended up loving our gifts. Again, I’ll go back to saying this, pick something that your significant other will use, or something that they will want. Picking gifts really isn’t all that hard when we stop to think about things that people enjoy. Sometimes the guys need a little extra nudge and we have to give them exact ideas to work with, and that’s okay. But gift buying for your special day can be so fun! Cameron ended up surprising me with a Tory Burch Tote and I was so surprised and love it to this day! It’s one of my favorite bags, and is the best color. It’s a light pale pink and was such a perfect gift for our wedding day. I got him an Arctic Portable cooler because I was so tired of seeing him carry a broken UT one to the pool every weekend, and I knew he would love having a new one. It was a huge hit and he loves it. I also surprised him with a couple of small things like cologne, some fun pampering items for men, and of course a hand written note! We both wrote each other notes for the day of and I highly suggest doing that. It’s such a special thing to do on your wedding day. Side note- don’t read it after you’ve put your makeup on. Cameron and I both love buying gifts for each other and the people we love, so it was definitely fun for us to do this on the biggest day of our lives. I’ll share some photos below! Tips for buying that special gift for your significant other- 1. don’t over think it. You know what each other likes and dislikes, just make it something special. 2. Start looking and brainstorming with plenty of time in advance. A lot of the time things have to be ordered and you don’t want to be stuck waiting for the gift to come on your wedding day. I ordered Cameron’s cooler 3 months prior to our wedding and I’m so glad I did because it took 2 months to arrive due to backorder, which I wasn’t told when I purchased. So always plan ahead! 3. Don’t stress! Chances are your significant other is going to love whatever you choose because it will be special to them. Put your heart into it and they will see that, and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.

Time to talk about gifts (or favors) for all your wedding guests. This can be a bit overwhelming and can really start to add up. I struggled to find something unique and affordable for a long time. I went back and forth a ton of times before I decided to stop worrying so much about it. I wanted to do something that was fun, easy, and personalized to our wedding day. So we decided two favors and it was really affordable and SO fun for our guests. Our first favor was a popcorn bar. Cameron and I went and tried about 20 different flavors, narrowed it down to three, and then placed a huge order for our wedding day. We chose a sweet, a salty, and a savory flavor and our guests loved it. There are so many ways you can personalize a popcorn bar. From the way you display it, toppings, signage, etc. We decided to keep it pretty classic and just use copper baskets and gorgeous marbled signs displaying the flavors. The kids at our wedding loved this station, and everyone raved about how fun it was! I bought popcorn bags and had them sitting on the table as well. I was so glad we did this because it allowed our guests to choose what they wanted! Some people don’t eat cake, so for us the popcorn was like an extra dessert table in a way! It was also a great snack after all the dancing everyone did! We added personalized coozies at the bar with our wedding date, our names, and a personalized color. I displayed them at the bar for everyone to see, and had them in a wooden crate for guests to take at the bar. This was so low key, easy to display, yet still personalized to our day. Find what works for you and run with it. Favors don’t always have to be a gift or something extravagant. Have fun with whatever you choose! Here are some photos of how we set up our favors for our guests!

Summer Beauty Must Haves

Happy Tuesday friends, so sorry my post didn’t go up yesterday! We had a really busy weekend and sometimes I just don’t get around to getting everything done on time. But, it’s up now and that’s all that matters!

It’s that time of year again, the cold days slowly disappear and we start wearing less and less layers, and then before we know it it’s Summer time. I love Summer time but just like any season, there are certain things we have to take into consideration when it comes to our skin and hair. In the Winter we use different products for different reasons, well, Summer is no exception. I wanted to share with you some of the items I’m loving for Summer. For me, it’s felt like Summer for the past month or so, so I started testing stuff out about a month and a half ago. Some of these products are things I use all year, and some are seasonal. Also, some of them are repeat buys where as some of them are products I’ve just purchased for the first time, but they were so good I wanted to share. I will try not to make this post too long, but I do want to share some details with you all so you know what type of product you’re getting. I will link everything at the bottom of my post, but let’s get started.

1. Self Tanners! I don’t know about you, but there is nothing worse than wanting to wear an adorable pair of shorts or a fun Summer dress, only to realize how pale you actually are. I used to tan in a tanning bed (insert all the bad emojis here) I know- it’s so bad for your skin. I only did this periodically while in college, and then soon after realized how horrible it is for your skin. I spent a good year or so being pretty pale before I discovered the world of self tanners. I’ve tried the cheap ones, the expensive ones, the ones you get done at salons, etc. I’ve narrowed it down to three that I love, and I will tell you why I love each of them. Let’s start out with Loving Tan. This is the first self tanner I purchased when I started my search, and I have to say I have been loving it ever since. This is one of the items I have repurchased multiple times. It is a mousse consistency and is very easy to apply. You have to purchase the applicator mitt as well so applying is simple. The mousse is an all natural aloe based mousse that has a great smell. A lot of self tanners smell horrible in my opinion, and this one has a very faint smell that is great! It also comes in different shades so you can pick a shade that is best for your skin. It is a little bit on the pricier side, the mousse is $59 but lasts for a good two-three months depending on how often you apply. This product really goes on smooth and gives a great Summer color. Personally, I love the tan after the second day, so if I need to be somewhere in a few days, I’ll do the tan a few days prior and by that time it has faded to the perfect shade. I would say this is probably my favorite self tanner at the moment. The only downside is that it ships from Australia so if you don’t want to wait or need something quickly, I would suggest the next product.

2. Next is the St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse. This one is at a little bit lower of a price point and in my opinion does not work as well as the Loving Tan. However, it is much more accessible, sold in stores, and the applicator mitt for St. Tropez is much better than Loving Tan. There are definitely pros to both, it just depends what you want to spend and how you like to shop. St. Tropez is essentially the same as Loving Tan, it is a mousse consistency as well and is applied with an applicator mitt. One thing I do love about St. Tropez is you can shower after 3 hours, with Loving Tan it is closer to 6 hours. So if you’re looking for a quicker tan St. Tropez might be a better option for you. Even after you shower and rinse the excess mousse off, the product is still absorbing in your skin for up to 8 hours and continuing to tan you! I love that aspect of this product. Another pro to the St. Tropez self tanners, it fades really nicely. Some self tanners can get splotchy and look a bit crazy as they begin to fade, but St. Tropez really fades naturally and just kind of disappears. No horrible spots that are lighter in some areas and darker in others. Overall this is a really good product for the price and I love that I can run to ULTA to pick it up.

3. Last but not least is the St. Moriz self tanner. So this is the cheapest product of the three. Here is what I love about this product, it’s $12 and give you a great color. However, by the second or third day of this tan it has drastically faded. I think this is because it absorbs so fast into your skin that it doesn’t really have that gradual tan process. This is a product I would use if I needed to be tan within the next couple of hours, because it tans you SO fast. But by the second day your color will have drastically lightened. A couple positives though, it dries in 5 minutes, it does not leave any type of residue, and you can be at the pool in less than an hour after you apply! Like I said, this is great for a quick fix or if you’re just looking to be tan for a certain day. If you’re looking for more of a long term product that will keep you tan through out the week, I would check out the first two. However, the price on this one can’t be beat so I keep it around for days when I want some color and need it fast!

Moving on to hair products for the Summer! I’ve been using Function of Beauty shampoo and conditioner for the past three months. I really wanted to use these for a while before sharing about them. I like to make sure I really like a product before sharing it with you all! These products are so fun because you get to fully customize them. All the way from the color, the scent, the name, etc. You fill out a profile and pick your problem areas or things you want to fix. This consists of selecting your hair type, hair structure, and scalp moisture, then selecting 5 hair goals. It sounds like a lot, but it’s not…it takes about 45 seconds! Whether it be oily hair, dry hair, frizzy hair, there are all different options. It is about $45 for a bottle of shampoo and conditioner together,  but it will last you a good month or more. I have a ton of hair and it is really thick and you do not need a ton of product, I put about five pumps in my palm and then put some water in my palm as well to help it lather, and that is plenty for my hair. So if you have shorter hair it may even last you longer. My top three reasons for continuing to buy these products as well as use them in the Summer are as follows 1. I chose a shampoo that would help with oil control, and I have really noticed a change with the amount of oils in my hair. 2. The smell is perfect for Summer and fully customizable so you can change it with the seasons. 3. Last but not least, this shampoo and conditioner are perfect for Summer because they do not leave any nasty build up or residue on your hair. They are made very well! The last thing I want when I’m heading out to the pool is to feel like my hair has a ton of build up or product on it, and this duo will leave your hair feeling SO fresh! I cannot link their products because they are customized to you, but you can get to their website by clicking here.

Okay two more must have hair products for Summer! One of these is a product I’ve been using off and on since high-school and I just LOVE it. I’m a huge fan of tousled and messy waves in the Summer. Whether you’re at the beach or just want a beachy look for a hot Summer day, you need this product. “Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt” spray creates tousled waves and provides a light matte finish to your hair. It’s infused with natural dead sea salt and sea kelp for texture. This texturizing Sea Salt spray also contains aloe extract which protects your hair from the dry heat of Summer. Okay, I’m just going to say it because you have to know, this product smells so good you may want to use it as a body spray. Don’t actually do that, but it really does smell amazing! Did I mention it is under $10? I mean why wouldn’t you try this! Another reason I love this spray so much is because it gives you texture and movability in your hair without that nasty crunch we all hate. There’s nothing worse than a product that leaves your hair feeling stiff and crunchy, am I right? So for the price, and the smell alone, this product is a must for Summer. I use it after I get out of the shower, spray a few sprays, blow dry my hair a bit just to work the product in and then let it do it’s magic. It’s the best for a day at the beach or the pool and I can’t wait to start using it for Summer again.

Next is a new product that I’ve only been using for the past couple of weeks. I’m not a huge hair spray fan, primarily because it always leaves my hair feeling stiff. So, when I found this product that smelt like a day at the beach, and it didn’t leave my hair feeling stiff as a board, I knew I had to share it with you. It’s the MoroccanOil Luminous Hair Spray in Medium hold. This hair spray gives you the perfect amount of hold without making your hair feel heavy with product. Another reason I love this product for the hot Summer months is because it easily brushes or washes out. So if you apply this in the morning when you get ready and then end up at the pool later on, you won’t have to worry about any nasty residue coming off when you’re in the water. I would say it is definitely a light hold hair spray, so if you’re looking for something to keep everything exactly in place, this is not the one for that job. However, like I said, it’s great for a light finish and gives an amazing shine without leaving a nasty residue which is great for Summer when you just need a little extra hold.

Makeup on a hot Summer day, no way!  Maybe it’s just me, but when it’s 100 plus degrees the last thing I want is a ton of product on my skin. I get that sometimes we don’t have an option and have to wear makeup no matter what the temperature is, but if we’re going to wear it when it’s this hot it better be light weight and hold through out the day. I tested my new favorite foundation out this past weekend, and when it comes to holding and not budging this foundation has it down. I never wear face makeup at the pool or when I’ll be laying out, however this past weekend we ended up at a pool and I hadn’t planned to be laying out so I had my makeup on still. I figured that it would be a good time to test out just how light weight this foundation was, as well as how well it withstood heat and sweat. I have to say the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation really is amazing. I applied it at 8 a.m, did a photo shoot, layed out by the pool in 90 degree weather, and I still looked like I had medium-to full coverage on when I got home that evening. All this to say, this foundation is a great non moving foundation. I’m not one to wear a full face of makeup to the pool or out in the heat, but if you have to do something that requires that and are looking for a foundation that won’t budge, this one is for you!

Last but not least is the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. This might be my favorite thing for Summer. We all know how a great day at the pool or beach leaves us with a nice glow, but that also comes with dried out skin. This stuff is seriously amazing. It makes your skin feel like a baby’s bottom, without being too oily. It is made of almond oils so it leaves your skin so moisturized and takes away any ashy feeling from all the time in the sun. I love this product for Summer because I would be at the pool all day every day if I could, so my skin needs all the extra oils and nourishment it can get in the heat of Summer.

I wish I had time to review every product I’m loving right now, but I don’t. So I will just link them all at the bottom for you. I’ll link a couple of the makeup products I’m loving as well as skincare items I use religiously. If you have any questions about any of the products please let me know! I would love to help or answer in any way I can.

Flamingos And Pink For Summer

Hi lovelies, I hope you all had a great week. I’ve definitely had a busy week so I’ve been a little MIA from Instagram and social media this week. Sometimes that’s nice though right? I think we all need a little break every now and then. Whatever you did this week I hope you enjoyed your week. I’m shooting with another new photographer this weekend and I can’t wait. I’m slowly but surely figuring out what I like and don’t like but I’m loving getting to meet new photographers and see new places in Dallas.

Okay, so moving on to this look. I’m sure you’re well aware that kimonos are really in this season, so I jumped on board and loved how fun and easy they are to wear. I ended up going with a shorter one opposed to a long one, but I can’t wait to find a long one I love as well. Kimonos come in all different forms, long sleeves, short sleeves, long lengths, or short. I found this one for under $30, and love the pattern. The pink and white is so fun for Summer and would look adorable with some jean shorts or even some white jeans for a night out. I sized down in this one because I didn’t want it to look huge. I typically wear a medium in things like this and sized down to a small, but it all depends on the fit and look you’re going for.

I got this Flamingo print bag in the mail a couple of weeks ago and wasn’t sure what I was going to pair it with, but when I got the kimono I knew they would look so cute together. If you’ve never heard of SheIn (the place where I got this bag) you have to check it out. It is all from China so shipping can be slower, but if you have a little patience you can really get some good deals. I would say if you’re shopping for clothes there to size up because everything typically runs small. Also, I’ll be honest, sometimes I order ten things and they all work out, sometimes only half work, and sometimes I throw items away. You just kind of have to weed through the site and find the gems! But I do love their site for low priced items.

I can’t wait to take this cute little bag and this kimono to the beach this summer. They are both perfect accessories for a beach trip or a pool day. Also, speaking of pools- I’m officially on operation “get it right, get it tight” for bikini season. Anyone else feel like Summer just crept up on us? So not fair! Anyway, enough about me freaking out that I have to be in a bikini in a month and a half, I hope you all love this look and I will link everything below for you to shop. Have a wonderful weekend friends!

Also I wanted to thank Mane Salon Dallas and my awesome hair stylist for doing my hair for this shoot! Shandy is amazing and always listens to exactly what I want for my hair. I linked their website above! If you’re in need of a good stylist, check them out. My husband and I both see her and love their salon.

Accessories Are A Girls Best Friend (Wedding Planning Wednesday)

We’re back with another Wedding Wednesday post. I’ve really had so much fun sharing our wedding with you all and have loved getting to recap it all on my blog. When we got married blogging was on my radar, and had been for a while, however it was not something I thought I could do or anticipated starting anytime soon. I can honestly say though, starting my Instagram back in mid February and my blog in March has been so amazing for me. It has really pushed me out of my comfort zone in ways that I needed to be pushed. I’ve had the opportunity to meet some amazing ladies, go on fun lunch dates, and just be a part of a fun community of creative woman, which is something I really needed. All that to say, I am no where near where I want to be or hope to be in a couple of years, but I just wanted to share with you all how grateful I am for all of the support. Whether it is a comment, a like, a share, or a subscription to my blog- it means SO much to me! I can’t wait to see how I grow my blog, and hope you will all grow with me.

Okay, now lets move on to the fun wedding stuff! This week I’ll be sharing all about my personal bridal style and how I chose certain things like shoes, accessories, hair styles, and makeup! Lets start with how I chose my wedding dress. Picking a wedding dress was something I had always dreamed about. In my mind (and all over Pinterest) I had the exact dress I would wear already picked out. Let’s just start out by saying this, DO NOT be upset when your dream dress (from Pinterest or your mind) does not work out. This was kind of a reality check for me, I’m the type of girl who had planned my wedding out for years. I knew what colors, what season, I knew it all. Or so I thought. So, when the time came to go try on dresses I thought it would be pretty quick and simple, considering I knew exactly what I wanted. Let me also say this, you may be that person that chose the exact dress you thought you would, or you might be like me and end up going a totally different direction. We’re all different, and this is just my experience. Alright, back on track! So we set up the appointments, I researched all the places I wanted to go, and then it was finally time. I was so excited and a little nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. I had made appointments for three bridal shops that day and assumed I would find my dress that day. So, when we got to the first place I described what I wanted to try, showed the stylist photos, and we pulled out gowns. After trying on a few dresses that I thought were going to be my style, I realized I needed to branch out and try things I wouldn’t have normally tried.

So, everyone who was with me began pulling dresses. Ones they liked, ones I liked, just a huge variety. It was actually kind of fun to try a ton of different styles, because honestly you never know what’s going to look best on your body, until you try a ton of different options. We did this all day, at three different places. I tried on mermaid fit dresses, long sleeve dresses, ball gowns, you name it- I tried it. My problem at the end of the day was this- I had tried on so many dresses, loved so many of them, and went home not really remembering what they all looked like. A tip for any of you bride to be’s- HAVE SOMEONE TAKE LOTS AND LOTS OF PHOTOS. Having photos to look back at when you’re home later and have some time to look alone is so helpful. When you’re trying on thirty plus dresses, it’s impossible to remember all the details. So assign someone to taking photos, and use those in making your decision.

I didn’t find my dress the first day, so we scheduled a couple more appointments and I found it the second time around. I ended up buying a dress knowing I would want to make some alterations to it. So I started that process as soon as I picked up my dress. We added some things that I really wanted, and took away some parts of the dress that I wasn’t in love with. If you’re planning on altering major parts of your dress, make sure you find someone who is skilled in this area. Do not just take it to a regular tailor.

So my overall tips for finding your dress are as follows- 1. Try on things that you wouldn’t normally try 2. Be open to opinions from family and friends 3. Take lots and lots of photos 4. Have photos on your phone for possible ideas that you can show the stylist 4. Don’t get frustrated if you do not find your dress right away, it’s the most important dress you’ll ever wear so take your time and don’t stress 5. Last but not least, make sure YOU are comfortable. At the end of the day it is YOUR wedding dress, not your families, not your bridesmaids, it’s yours. So take other peoples opinions into consideration, but at the end of the day you get to make that choice and it’s such a fun choice to make! Below are some photos of my wedding dress. I actually ended up wearing a totally different dress for our reception, and I will share both below.

Okay let’s move on to accessories. I had so much fun picking out my earrings, shoes, and perfume. I may have spent a little too much time choosing these things, but I really knew what I wanted and you only get to do this once so I wanted to get it right the first time. For my shoes I knew I wanted something comfortable first and foremost. We got married outside and had to walk in grass so I did not want to be stumbling or be uncomfortable at the altar. I ended up choosing a thick block heel which was amazing. I still wear these shoes today, and I love that I’m able to still use them. I chose a color that complemented all the colors in our wedding theme, and ended up going with a deep marsala. It was so pretty against the white of my dress, and I loved the lace up details. When choosing shoes I would say to keep these three things in mind. 1. Make sure you can walk in the pair you choose. It is not all about what they look like, if you can’t walk it is not going to look good, trust me 2. Make sure that you try them on before your wedding day and spend some time walking around in them 3. Pick a pair of shoes that you’ll be able to use again one day. I seriously love being able to wear mine, and think of how wonderful our wedding day was every time I wear them.

Moving on to accessories. When choosing accessories be sure that you’re taking into consideration all the amazing details of your dress. If your dress is plain and not extremely extravagant you can probably add more accessories. If your dress is extremely extravagant with beading and lace, I would say to wear minimal accessories. At the end of the day though, it all comes down to the look you’re trying to achieve. I didn’t want to wear a ton of jewelry and wanted the pieces that I did wear to be statement pieces. I ended up wearing a beautiful blush pair of Kendra Scott statement earrings with some delicate bracelets that I picked up from Nordstrom. I wanted the focus to be on my dress, but I still wanted to wear accessories. My top three tips for choosing YOUR accessories 1. Buy multiple options and try them all on with your dress, you never know what you’re going to like best until you try it 2. Figure out what you want your focus to be- the dress, your glamorous accessories, etc. 3. Make sure your earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc, are complimenting your shoes. Try and keep them all on the same color spectrum so it will all flow together!

Last but not least, choosing your perfume! This part was seriously so fun for me. Primarily because I’ve worn the same three perfumes for the past 10 years, I know I need to change it up a bit, but I just loved my three and didn’t see a need for a new one. That is until it was time to pick one out for our wedding day. I’m going to be honest, I don’t really have any tips on how to do this. This one is all about preference and what you like. I’ll share with you how I chose mine, and you’ll probably laugh, but it worked for me, so maybe it will work for someone else. First, I got recommendations from friends and family. I wanted to try things that were different and not necessarily something I would typically choose. So first and foremost do that. Make a list of all the options and head to your favorite department store. I chose my perfume a couple weeks before our wedding and ended up going to our local Nordstrom with my list of possible options. I tested them all, took the samples home, had Cameron smell them, and waited a couple days to see what I liked the best. There was nothing that I really loved, and so I went back a few days later. I’m not one to buy things because of the name brand, and I certainly do not only buy brands that I’ve heard about. I love to branch out and try new brands, so I started to look at perfumes that weren’t ones you really hear about. I stopped looking at Chanel, Ralph Lauren, and all the brands I had used in the past and just started browsing. When I did this I found the one. I knew I loved it as soon as I smelt it. I feel like when you’re shopping for perfume it’s kind of a hard to describe what you’re looking for, so when you find the one you love, you just know! I ended up choosing Paco Rabanne Olympea perfume, and let me tell you, IT IS AMAZING. This perfume is my favorite scent I have ever used. If you have not tried this or heard of it, run, don’t walk, to the mall and test this out. It is so amazing! I would try and describe what it smells like but I would probably confuse us all, so just try it for yourself and you’ll see what I mean.

Something I really love about choosing accessories for your wedding is the feeling you get 3 months, 6 months, or a year down the road when you get to use them again. To this day, every time I put that perfume on, my husband and I both comment on how it can literally take you back to that day. I also wore it the whole time on our honeymoon, so every time I wear it it takes us back to the best weeks of our life! Such a fun way to relive that special time in life! I will share a few photos of my accessories below.

The Dress You Need For Summer

Alright friends, if you missed my Instagram post earlier today I stated how much of a mess I am this Monday. We had a great weekend, but I’ve just finished my third coffee for the day, have 12 loads of laundry to do ( I mean at this point I’ve just given up on laundry) and I can’t stop myself from daydreaming about a beach vacation to somewhere tropical. With all that being said, there is just not enough time for everything to get done some weekends, and this weekend was definitely one of them, and because of that my blog post is going up a little later than normal. But hey, better late than never right? Also, I would never not share this look with you all because it is seriously just SO cute. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and spent time doing what makes you happy, whatever that may be.

Moving on- if you haven’t already seen this dress ( I probably overshared this outfit on Instagram) but it was just such a good one. I’m really into blue and white right now and have had to put a hold on buying more blue and white, because I know you guys want to see a little variety and I’m trying to branch out and add some more color to my wardrobe. It’s been so fun to incorporate new colors that I wouldn’t typically wear!

This dress might be one of the most flattering dresses I’ve bought in a long time. It’s fitted in all the right places but not to an extent where it’s too tight or not classy. I love the ruffle sleeves and the pretty ruffled bottom. It gives it such a fun feel! I would say to size up in the dress if you do decide to order it, as it does run a bit small. Items from that retailer typically do run small as they come from China, so keep that in mind if you decide to shop my post at the bottom.

I paired this summery ruffle dress with an amazing sun hat that would be perfect for a day at the pool or a vacation this Summer. I snagged this one up at Ross for $9! Yes, you read that right. Such a great deal. So, unfortunately I can’t link that exact hat, but these hats are a huge trend right now and you can find amazing ones just about anywhere. So don’t worry, I’ve linked some very similar options down below.

I ended up keeping my shoes somewhat neutral and wearing my go-to Marc Fisher wedges, because why not? They go with just about everything and I can honestly walk around in them for hours, which is a big A + in my book. I’ve linked my exact pair as well as some less expensive dupes that look almost identical. Last but not least, my earrings! I am SO obsessed with these earrings that I literally bought them in three colors. Now, I will say they were definitely a splurge for me and I typically don’t spend much on earrings. However, I’ve had my eye on these for so long, so when I saw that they were on sale for 1/4 of the price, I bought three colors. I’ve linked them below, but they are no longer on sale at the price I got them for. Also, I’ve had some questions regarding the weight of these earrings so I wanted to answer that as well. For how big of a statement these earrings are, they are so light! I was  a little worried these would be uncomfortable or too heavy for my ears, and they are so light weight. I wore them out the other night for Cinco De Mayo and wore them for 4+ hours and my ears were fine! So if you’re looking for a light weight pair of statement earrings that will go with just about everything, these are definitely for you.

Alright friends, I hope you love this look because I’m wearing it on repeat. Especially the cute little dress. Oh, and I’m not sure if I mentioned this already but the dress is under $35, so run and get it before it sells out. It did sell out last week, and then they restocked it, so be sure to head to the website and get it asap if you want it. I’ll link all my outfit details below so you can shop them, or just browse around! Have a wonderful Monday, and stay tuned for the next post in my Wedding Wednesday series. There are only two more left and then I’ll be sharing our wedding video, which I’m so excited to share with you all.

A Pop Of Pink

It’s Friday and I could not be more ready for the weekend. As I mentioned in my blog post on Monday, we have a lot going on in our lives right now so we’re worn out as of late. Between working full time jobs, keeping up with the blog, our dogs, and Cameron’s Football Kicking company, life has been crazy. I’m definitely hoping it will slow down soon, because we need a break. Maybe some of you are in this stage too, life seems to NEVER stop, and you just feel exhausted! If that’s you, I just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. I think so many times we feel as if we’re the only person who has ever gone through “this exact thing” whatever that may be, and that’s not the case. There is always someone out there going through the same things, so be kind to people and love people because you never know who needs it. I’ve found that even when I’m struggling or stressed, it helps me when I care about others needs and feelings. I just wanted to share those little thoughts with you all, in hopes that it will help someone or that someone else can relate! Now moving on to this fun little number. The only thing that would make this outfit better is if someone could figure out how to transport me to the beach instead of in front of a brick wall! Other than that, this outfit is SO great.

I was a little hesitant about the color of this dress because I typically tend to stick to pretty neutral colors. I will say this is probably one of the brightest pieces in my closet right now, but I’m really trying to step out of my comfort zone and spice things up a bit for Spring and Summer. Does anyone else feel like they need a whole new wardrobe change when a new season starts? I definitely do! I started cleaning out my closet this week and it feels so good to get rid of stuff and downsize a bit.

Okay, on to the details. Unfortunately this dress already sold out. I just bought it last week, and today when I went to link it for you all it was already sold out. I will keep an eye out for it in case it becomes available again, but don’t worry, I will link some similar colors and styles for you at the bottom. What I love about dresses like this one is how comfortable and easy they are. This dress is adorable and so stylish but not uncomfortable to be in. I love a good dress like that! It’s flowy and loose but still flattering at the same time. I love the length as well, the midi dress length is definitely a big trend right now and I totally understand why.

You can still show off a little leg without worrying if you’re going to flash someone when you stand up from the table at dinner. If you ask me that’s definitely a reason to invest in some good midi dresses. I paired this hot pink number with some black studded block heels that are such a good price you can’t pass them up. Not only are these under $40, they are also the perfect height. I am trying to invest in shoes that I can wear with shorts, dresses, pants, etc. I’m really not big on super high heels primarily because I cannot walk in them without killing my feet. At the same time though I love to wear heels, so it’s all about finding the right style and height for you. If you’re like me and not wanting to kill your feet but still add a little extra height, these are definitely for you! I will link them at the bottom for you as usual.

I added a little fedora because, why not right? I’m really into hats right now which is so odd because a year ago I never accessorized with hats. I’m not sure if my style is just changing a bit, or if this pom pom fedora was just too cute to pass up. I actually have a special discount code for my readers at the bottom of the post. You can use it to purchase this fun Fedora or something else from their website. The website cannot be linked via LIKEtoKNOWit so I will link it right here for you to shop if you want to stock up on some cute hats as well.

The code to shop on their website is “Taylor_20” and will take 20% off your order at checkout, so if you purchase from them be sure to use that code for a good little discount. I hope you all enjoy this look as much as me, as I mentioned above I’m trying to add a little more color to my posts lately. However, if you have a certain look or style you would like to see, please let me know! I would love to do a post on something that YOU request, so feel free to send those my way!

How To Style Your Wedding Party

It’s Wedding Wednesday again! I hope you all enjoyed my first Wedding post last week, if you missed it and didn’t get to check it out, head here to read all about our decor! This week I’ll be sharing all about how we chose our wedding parties style. From mixing and matching bridesmaid dresses, as well as how to make your groom stand out from the groomsmen. I’ll be sharing a little bit about everyone’s style in our wedding party. If you have any specific questions about where we got certain items, please feel free to email me and I can let you know. Since our wedding was last October, a lot of the items may be sold out. However, some of the pieces came from places that make items year round! I hope you enjoy this post.

Now let’s move on to our wedding party. This was such a tricky part of wedding planning for us. When I say us I really mean me and my bridesmaids. They were so great with the constant change of ideas. As I mentioned in my first wedding post featured here, it is really important to have a theme/color scheme. So with that being said, I assumed that all of my bridesmaids would wear a variation of a deep, Fall color. I went to multiple stores and spent time pulling dresses, mixing and matching different colors, and really loved what I had chosen. I had selected four different dresses, all of different patterns and colors, and it was beautiful! However, plans change! When it was time for all the girls to come try on dresses, and see how it all looked on, things went great! Everyone but one person had their dress, so we decided to make a trip to Macy’s to see if we could find that last dress. When we did this, we all began to find these beautiful dresses and I was totally obsessed with the look. At this point multiple girls had ordered their dress, so we had to cancel the orders and we started completely over. We built it all off of one dress, and I can honestly say I’m so glad we decided to look at that last place. The dresses we chose were exactly what I had envisioned but couldn’t exactly put together, that is until I saw them in person.

One thing I would say is this, don’t be afraid to experiment. Pull dresses for your bridesmaids that are unique. If you are wanting to mix and match and do something different, it will take a lot more work. But in the end it turns out so beautiful. Another tip I have for mixing and matching dresses is this, pick the one dress that you absolutely HAVE to have in your wedding party, and then pull other dresses that go with that dress. It will take a lot of trial and error, but keep trying on different things and mixing different patterns and textures. For my bridesmaids we ended up completely changing the colors and going with dark greys and building off of that. We incorporated our wedding colors with their shoes and the flowers. The deep red flowers, and pretty pinks really stood out with the dark dresses. A couple more tips for mixing dresses, 1. Make sure everyone is there at the same time so you can see the dresses all side by side. 2. Do not mix and match lengths of dresses, either choose all long or all short, and get your variety from the types of fabric and styles of the dresses. 3. Last but not least do not give your bridesmaids free reign. It’s great to let everyone choose a dress they love, after all they are the ones buying their dress most of the time. However, have criteria for what colors, styles, and patterns they can choose.

Okay, moving on to the men! Let’s be honest though, the bridesmaids dresses are SO much harder to figure out than the groomsmen’s tuxedos. When we started to plan the suits/tuxedos for the guys, we really wanted to keep it classic. Since we had already decided that the girls would all be in darker colors, we obviously wanted to keep this theme going. However, I really wanted Cameron to be in something different than all of the guys. So, we decided to have all the groomsmen wear a classic black and white tuxedo, we added a little color to their look with fun socks that we gave them as part of their gifts. For Cameron, we decided we needed to do something that would still complement the groomsmen but at the same time stand out. We found an amazing navy tuxedo with black lapels and it turned out so nice. I loved how his tuxedo was navy but still had a small amount of black to match the groomsmen. We added maroon bowties that we also added to the guys gifts, and it really pulled the whole look together. When it comes to choosing a tuxedo or suit for groomsmen, I really suggest doing it this way. We went to a rental store, picked the whole entire suit and set up the orders. All the guys had to do was send in their measurements, pay for their rental, and pick up their tux! It was so simple, because let’s be real for a second, guys are horrible at coordinating and planning. Most of the time! You might be lucky and have a significant other that’s amazing at this kind of thing, but for us this was the way to go! When they were done with the tuxedo all they had to do was return it to the store, it was so simple and I highly recommend it. Also, when doing this you eliminate the possibility of someone getting the wrong shirt or the wrong jacket. Everyone gets the same thing at the same store and it makes life so much easier! We used Al’s Formal Wear in Uptown, Dallas and they were amazing! I will share the groomsmen and grooms style below!

groomsmen style groomsmen mismatched style groom first look groomsmen navy tuxedo best man and groom fall wedding groom shoes for fall wedding fall flowers for wedding grooms wedding style Now I’m going to touch on the remaining members of your wedding party! That could be anyone from grandparents, flower girls, parents, etc. I’m not going to share with you exactly how to coordinate this for your wedding, because every wedding is different and every bride and groom are unique. For us, we knew that the best way to do things for my dad and Cameron’s dad would be the same way as the groomsmen. That was simple and easy for us as well, because both of our dad’s rented tuxedos the same way I mentioned above. For our mom’s dresses it was all about what they wanted! We wanted them to feel comfortable and love what they were wearing. The mother of the bride and the grooms mom typically do not wear the same color, so we let my mom choose from two colors, she chose black, and then Cameron’s mom wore navy. They both made sure that we were happy with what they chose, and included us in this process. However, at the end of the day we wanted them to love what they were wearing. If there’s one tip I could give for choosing mother of the bride dresses it would be this. Do not just look at “mother of the bride” dresses. I don’t think either of our mom’s found their dress in this specific section. Be open to looking at all areas of a store! You never know what you might find. We coordinated our grandmothers dresses with our moms, so black and navy were still the main colors. Again, stick to a color theme when choosing anything for your wedding, it will really make decisions much more cut and dry. Knowing that you can only choose from two colors really narrows it down, but still gives someone an option!

Last but not least, it wouldn’t be a wedding without the adorable flower girl and ring bearer. We had two ring bearers and one flower girl! I knew I wanted our flower girl to be in a white dress and for the dress to be dramatic and flowing! Luckily she loved the dress I chose and was just as obsessed with it as I was. I added some color by ordering her a flower crown (made of fake flowers so she could keep it) and put this with her wedding day gift. It was such a hit and she loved wearing it. She said she felt like a princess and she definitely looked like one. As far as the ring bearers, we kept it simple and stuck with the classic black and white theme! They each had their own job, one held the ring box and one got to hold a sing. Just a tip, if you have more than one ring bearer or flower girl, make sure they both have their own job. It helps to give each of them a task so they feel like they are involved as well! Another tip for having young kids in your wedding- make sure that the parents know to be on the inside of the aisle so the child can find them and sit down. We chose to have our three little minis sit with their parents after their job was done, just to make sure there were no unexpected melt downs at the altar! I mean they are all under six, so we didn’t know how they would react. We had the cutest little trio, and I loved how their style matched ours, but was still perfect for their ages.
